Tell me Your Chamchas, I will tell about your company

Are you a founder? Learn to deal with the “Chamchas”

When you are a founder of a startup, it will be quite natural that, as you grow, your chamchas will grow. Its always good to hear good words from “chamchas”. No one will deny that. Its always a pleasure to have someone always talking good about us in front of us.

But beware, If chamchas feed your ego, your business will not feed you anymore

To sacrifice your ego, first sacrifice the thought that you are an entrepreneur.

You are someone who identified a problem in a particular environment and try to solve that problem through a startup.

You are not an entrepreneur who gives job to x number of people and have a pride that x number of people works under you. This is the mentality that gives rise to Ego. This “EGO” will exactly used by the Chamchas which will further ruin the company and will force good employees (who will be branded as “EGOistic” by the Chamchas) to quit.the

Do not think yourself as an #entrepreneur. Think that you are someone who identified a problem and tries to solve that problem thru a startup.

The age old saying,

“Tell me your friends, I will tell about you” also applies to your company – Tell me Your Chamchas, I will tell about your company

I will not say, do not have chamchas. Have them. Have chai with them. But don’t let them feed your ego. Its good to hear good from the chamchas about us. But do not drive away honest critics from your loyal employees. Chamchas make you feel good about yourself. But it is the loyal employees that keeps our company growing. Only if our company grows, we can feed the employees, their family and our family.

So do not drive away the chamchas, Just keep them around you, but do not let them influence your decisions. Always give good post to those who are loyal, hardworking and criticize us openly. Keep the chamchas for what they are. They also help us in keeping us in positive mood.
