Goodwill tells completely about the life of the King and the queen above.

Customer is just another user who depends on their goodwill, feels safe and remains loyal as long as the king and queen live happily ever after

Customer acquisition by giving offers is like the king romancing with another queen while his loyal queen is asleep. Its uselss, meaningless when it comes for a digital business. Noone is going to be loyal because offers are showered. Uber and Ola are best example for this. You cant earn loyalty through offers.
Even if Uber is innovative, disruptive the offers that it gives will make it destructive to the entire cab business.
